Make Firefox Faster

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

Today is Firefox day. Reading my friend’s blog, I realized this tweak for Firefox to make it faster reading webpages.

It seems that this news is little bit old, but I will make it notice here because I think it’s really interesting. And in any way, I would like to help Firefox and it’s team by explaining all its pros.

You can read the instruccionts about what you need to change in your Firefox configuration here.

Firefox Bookmarks Synchronizer

Thursday, December 30th, 2004

I’m using Mozilla Firefox since 3 or 4 months ago. Since that moment, I’ve been looking for an extension that let me share my bookmarks between my desktop and laptop. After looking a lot of time for it, I found the solution.

The solution is “Bookmarks Synchronizer” by Torisugari. This extension allows you to upload an XML file with your firefox bookmarks to an FTP and then, just download, merge and upload them from any Firefox with this extension installed. Just perfect for what I was looking for.

From the moment I start using it, I have all my bookmarks available from any computer, and at the same time, it is a backup of my bookmarks if my computer crashes.

Apple Patents iPod Acceleration Detector

Friday, December 24th, 2004

According to this article posted yesterday on CNET, Apple has applied for a patent on technology which would allow an iPod (or other device) to detect when it is falling and shut down the hard drive, minimizing the potential damage to drive and data due to impact. How soon this technology will find its way into the iPod, assuming it ever does, is unknown. Considering that IBM has deployed similar technology in its ThinkPads, I wouldn’t be surprised if it appears within the next generation or two.

Another sad farewell

Monday, December 20th, 2004

As we know, all farewells are used to be sad. Lots of tears falling down, erasing make-up and showing emotions.

Today, Dani and me have been to the airport to say goodbye to Claudia and Silvia, two sicilian girls that have been in Barcelona for 4 months with the Leonardo’s project. The other two Italian girls will stay in Barcelona a couple of months more, till February.

Laura, who is staying in Barcelona till February will leave next wednesday to Milano to meet the family during christmas, but will be back for new year’s eve.

As we said this afternoon: “See you next weekend in Razz“.

Snowboard hangover

Tuesday, December 7th, 2004

Hangover day… The weekend has ended for me. Today I work while others enjoy a 5-days weekend.

I’ve enjoyed a lot this weekend in the Pyrenees. I layed down a lot, relaxing and having fun. I’ve meet old university friends, and yesterday I enjoyed a sunny winter day in La Masella, a ski and snowboard station.

I took a picture of the station and the great sky over us.

La Masella

The problem: today my body hurts a lot… I must train a little bit more.

Hotmail Upgraded AccountWhat a surprise… Just 5 minutes ago I’ve logged into my Hotmail account to read a mail of a friend of mine who invites me to a dinner tonight. After reading the mail, I noticed something strange in the capacity line which is up-left on the screen.

My accound has been upgraded today to 250MB! Microsoft release date was 5th December, but they upgrade it one day before.

At last, there will be no need to delete my e-mails to free space of the account.
