Tal i com ja s’ha comentat per diferents blogs, Google Calendar es va obrir el passat dia 13 d’Abril per a usuaris amb compte a Google o Gmail.

Feia dies que estaba darrera de trobar un calendari online. Sobretot un que utilitzés iCal per a poder afegir-lo a la meva pàgina a Netvibes. Vaig provar el YahooCalendar, el CalendarHub y el 30boxes, però cap d’ells m’acabava de convencer.

Això que quan van obrir l’accés em vaig regitrar amb la meva compta de Gmail, i realment m’he sorprès, comparat amb la resta que havia pogut provar, però està al nivell de totes les aplicacions que està desenvolupant Google.

Les principals aventatges són la posibilitat de importar el teu actual calendari desde Oultook, que t’envien avisos per correu, podent escollir si vols rebre un resum del dia a primera hora del matí, etc…

L’unic problema és que encara no he pogut importar el meu calendari, ja que sembla que hi ha un error amb les localitzacions de Outlook a l’hora de exportar a CSV i GoogleCalendar no ho processa bé. L’altre, es que encara no permet sincronització amb Outlook, però segurament en un futur es pugui gràcies a les APIs de Google.

El passat dimecres llegia al blog en anglès de’n Martin Varsavsky un post sobre Netvibes. Mai abans habia sentit parlar d’aquesta pàgina web, però pel que parlava semblava interessant. Per situar-vos una mica, en Martin Varsavsky és el fundador de Fon, i en el seu moment va fundar Ya.com i Jazztel.

Després de mirar-la una mica per sobre, vaig decidir registrar-me i començar a personalitzar la meva pàgina, amb RSS, previsions meteorològiques, accés a Box.net (espai virtual de 1GB gratuit), bookmarks, accés a Gmail, YahooMail, POP3… Vaja, una infinitat de coses concentrades a una sola pàgina. A més, també pots sindicar podcasts i escoltar-los directament des d’allà.

Només dir-vos que em vaig registrar dimecres, i avui divendres ja puc dir que en sóc un usuari asidu.

A través de Minid rebo la grata notícia que Gmail ja està traduit integrament al Català. És dificil entendre com un sistema de correu amb poc més d’un any de vida ja estigui traduit a 38 idiomes (incloent entre ells el Català i altres llengues minoritàries) mentre altres empreses ni tan sols deixen que la gent que vol utilitzar el seu servei li facin la feina i tradueixin una web al seu idioma.

Personalment, un altre punt a favor de Google (dins de la llarga llista que ja porta en el meu compte personal).

Per configurar la vostra compta al Català, només cal que accediu a l’apartat de Configuració (Settings) a la part superior dreta, i a la pestanya General, seleccionar el Català dins la llista d’idiomes.

Just right now, Gmail is upgrading all the accounts to 2GB Infinity + 1. The upgrade is gradual, so each moment, the mailbox is bigger.

I’ve read the news this morning when accessing to my account. For me, the best, apart of the upgrade, are the comments that Google writes on the login page, like that a graph shows more than an equation.

Just right now, the mailbox size is 1345MB and growing.

All I must say is: “Google is surprising me everyday. Just go on the same way”.

AT&T is reserching into a Text to Speech project. And now they have an OnLine Demo in several languages (Spanish, English, French, American and German), all of them with two voice version (male and female).

I’ve tryed really strange words and sentences trying to find some mistake, but it was impossible. If you find one, just let me know.

What a surprise… Just 5 minutes ago I’ve logged into my Hotmail account to read a mail of a friend of mine who invites me to a dinner tonight. After reading the mail, I noticed something strange in the capacity line which is up-left on the screen.

My accound has been upgraded today to 250MB! Microsoft release date was 5th December, but they upgrade it one day before.

At last, there will be no need to delete my e-mails to free space of the account.

It seems that Google is releasing all their promises! They promise a lot of things and those are being published every week.

Now it has been the POP3 access to your gMail account.

As all gMail upgrates, not everybody has this feature, but they are adding this upgrade to all accounts. Yesterday was mine!!

Let’s see what’s next…

Today I’ve recived an e-mail from Hotmail Staff. It seems to be a deadline for the storage upgrade to 250MB.

The suposed date: December, 5th.

Will it be the last? Will our waiting finished?
